The MAGIC LAB is an 8-week lab designed to help filmmakers bring their short films to life. This initiative aims to educate and encourage storytellers to take control of their art while providing creative support and resources for making their films. Filmmakers will learn everything from proper screenwriting techniques to crowdfunding, budgeting, film festival strategies and more.

"I encourage every writer to actively pursue fellowship opportunities. They offer the space to help foster your personal skillset in an 'iron sharpens iron' approach. Building 'horizontally' with creators on your level of expertise have shown to be a better formula to success for the up & coming filmmaker — in oppose to reaching or networking vertically.

Best of Luck on the Journey!"

"I am forever grateful for the time and energy Moon Ferguson gave to me, as a collective in the group and individually. While everyone has their own lives and day-to-day challenges, of which I am not exempt, Moon was very patient in guiding and sharing her knowledge. The fact that there are so many resources to return to and communicate makes the Magic Lab worth it. Would attend again."

"Thanks to the opportunity to workshop my script in the lab, I was selected as a Quarterfinalist for the ScreenCraft Film Fund (Spring 2025) and as a Finalist for the Writer/Director Track in Sundance Collab’s Cultural Impact Residency, honoring the legacy of social justice leader Michael Latt."
